Here we have an exceptional, completely original concours MK2 1988 VW Golf GTI 8V in L90E Alpine White. This car has been so well kept over the years, always garaged and cared for, it looks exactly as it did when it left the showroom 35 years ago.
This car has such incredibly low mileage at just 37k miles and you will find it very difficult to find another example that has been kept in such a way. That’s an average of just 1,057 miles a year!
The car has been in the possession of its current owner for 15 years and has spent most of its life being cleaned. It lives under a cover in an insulated garage, and of course, never gets wet. Fluids have just been changed, as well as the water pump & cam belt.
The car benefits from its period Blaupunkt stereo unit (with original dealers supplied unit & papers in storage) and currently sits on NOS factory option diamond cut VW 14″ teardrop alloy wheels. Original 14″ VW steels are also available in boxes.
The level of originality in this car is truly remarkable and makes this one of the very best examples you will ever see in the MK2 community. You’ll struggle to find another in the UK with such low mileage.
This is one of very few un-modified cars left.
This MK2 GTI has been taken to a variety of shows and has won many awards along the way. A reluctant sale due to having no use since September before lockdown.
